anti-united-nationsThere are over 600 US cities that are members of ICLEI, the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives, now known as Local Governments for Sustainability. ICLEI institutes the UN Convention on Biological Diversity treaty that was withdrawn from a vote on the Senate floor in 1994, so the treaty, designed for UN control, is being implemented in cities.

Global-Warming-Pumpkin--24105The United Nations has ensnared the world in voluntary treaties intended to become mandatory later, tricking politicians and the public.  The treaties may be vague and open to interpretation over time, using a tactic known as 'incrementalism'.  These treaties affect many branches of government.  The treaties are designed to deindustrialize and economically break nations, restrict energy resources (especially for electricity and transportation) and implement taxation schemes based on manipulated science from the UN (the EPA has authority to implement Cap-and-Trade).

Thirty-two states are on the path to UN-inspired carbon reduction, Cap-and-Trade schemes and unconstitutional alliances; the supporting Governors must be held accountable.  Carbon reduction and population reduction go hand in hand.  The United Nations failed to impose their treaties from the top down (the Kyoto and Copenhagen Accords) and the federal government has abandoned its unpopular national Cap-and-Trade scheme for now.  Cap-and-Trade is being pursued on the state level, and one region has even raised over $700 million in carbon auctions.

Idaho State Representative Phil Hart authored the Idaho State Silver Gem Act earlier this year which allows for the Idaho State Treasurer to issue silver medallions and make them available to the public; people may use them for any purpose they want and will have the option of paying their State taxes with the silver.  The benefits of the Silver Gem Act are:

• Silver can be used as an alternative currency, outside of the banking system

• Jobs will be created in the metal refining industry in Idaho

• Silver- and gold- are a protection against inflation for both the public and Idaho State

UPDATE: On September 1, 2010, the USDA announced it will issue permits for farmers to grow GMO sugar beets, so long as the plants don't flower, per news reports.

Revised August 20, 2010*

farmer3_dees-1Last week, federal Judge Jeffrey White refused a request for an injunction on GMO sugar beets, but the GMO plants are illegal to grow at this time, pending an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) by the USDA and possible further legal action.  Sugar beets comprise 50% of the sugar used in US food, and 95% of the sugar beets grown in the US are GMO. It is the jurisdiction of the US Department of Agriculture to determine whether plants are environmentally safe; this case is about whether the plants can cross pollinate (by wind, insects, etc) and contaminate other plants.

nyesheriffbadgeIn this 3-part video interview with Tony DeMeo, Sheriff of Nye County, Nevada, he explains that he is a Constitutional Sheriff and that authority for public office holders is derived from the people.  He tells the story about how he used the Constitution as his foundation in the saga of Nye County rancher Wayne Hage's disputes over encroachments by the federal government.  While Wayne Hage's case centered around property rights in federally managed lands, Sheriff Tony DeMeo's example is relevant for everyone to understand the power of local government, the importance of following the Constitution and upholding the Tenth Amendment (states' rights and sovereignty).
